The business of the Southern African Association of Tourism
Professionals is to represent the collective interests of individuals operating
at a professional level within the tourism economy in southern Africa.
Membership is awarded based on the criteria set out in the Articles of Association. Ordinary Members and Fellow Members have voting rights and are entitled to use the letters MSAATP and FSAATP behind their names.
Membership of the SAATP requires adherence to a Code of Conduct and the Charter. In this way the public are assured that members practice the high standards of professionalism to which the Association aspires.
Members are also encouraged to know and subscribe to the 'Global Code of Ethics for Tourism' of the World Tourism Organisation.
It
is the intention of the SAATP that the Association should grow and provide a
broad range of benefits to its members across the region. New members are always
welcome. The SAATP encourages the active participation of members and will be
establishing Chapters in a number of centres in the not too distant future.
